Lola

A musical collaboration from brothers Shane McNamara and Liam Jones.

As avid collectors of vinyl, electronic music obsessives, and both having spent many years behind the bedroom DJ booth growing up together Shane and Liam eventually decided to start taking their musical journey a little more serious. Back in early 2013 after their first collaborative production (a remix of Hungarian producer Gnork) was picked up by European label Freaky House receiving a limited and highly sort after wax only pressing the boys established Lola as an output for their musical creations and of course...... To show off their beloved record collections.

A definite nod towards a more classy house sound but with influences ranging from disco, 80s sleaze, New York Garage and techno. The boys have an ear for making the dance floor work how it should. All mixed with a serious amount of love and attention.

Nick Williams

Nick has been running the counter and shop floor at Phonica for 5 years, regularly serving up new releases to some of the busiest working dj's, everyone from Theo Parrish to Andrew Weatherall, Floating Points to Seth Troxler, Kenny Dixon and Four Tet... you name them, he selects records for them.

For his house sets Nick likes to draw on everything from early house from Chicago & late 80's UK acid, to more modern deep jazzy house from all over the world - Germany, Russia, Japan...

Nick's love affair with DJ'ing started when attending the first outdoor incarnations of Tribal Gathering and Homelands festivals, as well as illegal parties in London. Going to Ibiza in 1998 was a turning point, especially when unexpectedly played a set when invited back to the infamous Manumission Motel.

Since living in Australia for a year Nick returned to the UK to live in London, which saw him make music his career - working in vinyl pressing plants, distributors and record shops.

Finally landing in Phonica, Nick has played warm-up duties for Moodymann, Henrik Schwarz, Four Tet, Dinos Chapman,  and Omar-S. Whilst also promoting his own club nights in the last few years which saw him booking Paul White, Bullion, Magic Mountain High, Kyle Hall, Maurice Fulton, DMX Krew, Funkineven and Computer Jay, and also UK debut performances from Maxmillion Dunbar, Beautiful Swimmers, Ital, Ron Morelli and Vakula.

In the last few years he has played venues such as Corsica Studios, Plastic People, Great Suffolk St, and Fire. In 2013 he played both Room 1 and Room 3 at Fabric.

In 2014 alone Nick has played DJ support in London and Sheffield for Kassem Mosse, Rick Wilhite, Derrick Carter, and Carl Craig. This year has also seen him play abroad in Berlin, Venice and Croatia.

2014 also saw Nick start a House sub-label for the might R&S Records. The new imprint Meda Fury is run by Nick as head of A&R and releases exotic House from all over the globe.

Trafford

DJ and vocalist Trafford has performed and played at various venues across London such as Cargo (Hoxton), Notting Hill Arts Club (West London) and The Barfly (Camden) either as a singer or DJ. Liz currently records and performs with Sunwalker (Soul Heaven, Stereo Sushi) and has a vast knowledge and collection of many genres of music specializing in House, Funk, Rare Groove and Soul.

FRANCK BOMBARD

Missing a disk in his spine when he was born sent him naturally on a quest ! Since then he's been digging hard and rare to find records for the love of music. Organising his first underground rave party in 1992, he's been promoting and playing at parties all around the globe, playing at some very exclusive spots in Paris and London like the Murano hotels, la Terassa, Follow The White Rabbit in Paris and Hakkasan, Sketch, Black Rabbit, Flightrhythm and Peoples in London ). He's been lucky to rock Cannes movie festival, Calvi on the Rocks and Horizon festival in Bulgaria. He's also part of the Flightrhythm London crew of djs. His musique is groovy, funky, colourful and uplifting.
